You know that there's something up when the sun is starting to come up at half four in the morning.
One of these such things, comes in the form of a question: 'What the hell am I doing up at this time?' The answer being simply: 'Course work.'
I put it down to user error.

Occurences in the night
On Thursday night/Friday morning, I was awoken at somewhere around 2am by a pretty squealy screech outside - I will sleep with the window open. I looked out and a car had just stopped. Shortly following this were a set of flashing blue lights and a large amount of noise.
One police car turned up sharpish and pulled alongside the car. Next news, after a brief chat into a walkie-talkie thingy, another police car shows up.
Another short while later, a police van turned up. It was at this point were I became disappointed, because I discovered that my camera had no batteries, so I couldn't take any pictures =[
But then, to cap off an already exciting wake-up, a third police car arrived! This is certainly something I've never witnessed before, so I was in my element! The driver person was put in cuffs and then into the van and shortly driven off, followed by one of the 3 cars. An extended time later, a breakdown type truck turned up. It already had a car on it. This was taken off and the pulled over car was put on. Not as easy as it sounds, whatever had happened the latter managed to put a hefty white mark on the road - perhaps the tyre had come off - who knows? Then the former was attached to the forks at the back and the whole lot then got bundled off to somewhere.
What a day. Night. Day. Whatever.
Love Milord.
Oh, also, during this time of around about half an hour, 3 Royal Mail lorries went past ^_^

Hooray, Hooray, It's April Fool's Day!
Yesterday first, today after. So we met in Do-Dahs; Me, Kirsty, Kirsty, Sammy and Shirin and then later on Simon turned up. And from there, no we didn't get the train*, we got the bus up to Accrington to the bowling. I handed my left trainer in and asked the guy if he could spray it for me - he did. We managed to get almost 2 games out of our hour, which is very good. The first game did not start well for me, by the forth go - as in, after 6 balls - I still hadn't hit any and Sammy had about 30 points. By the end of the game I had 90 points and Sammy had 85. My 3 strikes did help me there. The seond game started fairly well really, my form hadn't changed and I was managing to get most of the balls down in one. The Arrogance-meter was up to the red area**. So, what with me getting 3 more strikes I got a blistering 113, while Sammy was somewhere around 80ish. I could have had another strike, but I timed out just before it counted it. Oh well.
After that we spent a lot of time and money in the arcade area. About 3 quid on the slots, 2 on the air hockey - which Kirsty will delight in telling people she beat me both times - and best part of £3 on the grabber machine. Slightly dejected we went to the Golden Arches to play Monopoly. I had a free Big Mac and bought the smallest drink ever. I should have realised when it cost me 89p.
The following hours were mainly uneventful; we got the bus to our respective destinations - I stopped off at Kirsty's to get some stuff for me cousins and a dark chocolate Easter egg, which is now gone - and then went on my way once more. I did some work when I got home, and then in'th'evening we watched The Incredibles, which is just awesome ^.^
Today wasn't very successful. For a start I finally woke and got up at 12:47, so I missed any jokes set on me.
Getting up so late also meant that most of the day had disappeared before I'd even said hello to it. I basically had dinner, went on the computer: facebook, as one does. On the Dragons app. I apparently had 15 attacks, from two creatures, I rang Simon because one of them was using 14 of those 15 - well, not because of this but I thought that perhaps it was a virus, what with some of the stats it had. He texted me later on saying that it was most likely an April Fools, we'd both completely forgotten about that. So it now seems silly that I thought it might be a virus.
And then I stuck some music on a did some work. And that's it.
When the parents got in we had tea and watched...football...which I almost never do. It wasn't too bad either; Man Utd won 2-0 and none of the fans got seats inconveniently rammed through their faces.
Then most recently I watched some cool adverts*** on youtube and a thing to do with HL2 that baffled me immensely but which was fairly cool all the same.
Busy day.
Love Milord.
*Don't worry, I just had a brief conversation with the part of my brain that thinks of ridiculous things, like the getting a train instead of a bus, in a similar way to if I had put we'll get a boat to Swizerland.
**For one day I was almost as arrogant as Simon.
***Including Guinness Hands and Guinness Dominoes, Smirnoff Triple Distilled and the new Honda ad.

It [Time] Is Made Out Of Circles
The weekend seems to have gone pretty quickly, though this may been down to getting up at half 10ish. This is through no fault of my own, I put it down to BST* mucking around with things; I technically got up at body-clock 9:30. So so far I've had breakfast and done a hard Sudoku and started on some work.
I'm doing this now because the parents have gone out with the family for a walk around the resi in Whitworth and they may think that I'm slacking; it's procrastination, not slacking. I'm not writing what seems to be my life story today though, so that's good. I doubt I'll have time/remember to do it tonight though, so that's another reason to do it now.
Kirsty is coming over later - wih Firefly - and the parents are going out to see Gogol Bordello. They aren't really that great imo, so I'm not going. If Vicki ever reads this she may just kill me. Oh well.
And that's about it for today - can't think that anything else might happen that I can write about. I'm off out to meet people tomorrow to go bowling, so that'll be commentable.
Bye 'till then.
Love, Milord.

Seldom Heard in Spring
I seem to have been even more lax over the past 4 weeks or so with my blogging, I'm really not doing very well. I think I've had only 1 post in the whole month and gig season is nearly here already. Ah well, I shall start then. Oh, as an aside, anything I miss now will be added in April when I'm back at uni.
I finished for Easter on the 14th, a Friday, and that afternoon/evening went home to have a shower - that part didn't happen. Me and the parents and Kirsty were going down to London that weekend, but via Newark, nearish to Lincoln*1, where my Aunt and Uncle live. Two reasons for going via here, i.e. stopping over there on Friday night, was because the train is much cheaper from there, and to see the new arrival, this being my new cousin - I have 4 now, the second of this half of the family. As I kept saying "It" is called Erin, therefore a 'she' and much the same as any newly born pink squishy thing.
So the next morning at 6 am*2 I rose, got dressed, ate and shortly after, left. Upon reaching the station and waiting for our passage, we alighted onto what is possibly the worlds dingiest train; horrible and yellow and brown, like something out of the 70s. So we endured that for a thankfully short hour and a half - passing the Emirates Stadium (Arsenal FC) and arrived at King's Cross in London. Here mum and Kirsty got very excited about that prospect of seeing Platform 9 3/4 but alas we never looked hard enough and left the station. Heralding an already waiting cab, we spent about £7 getting to the British Museum. This was the first stop of the day because an exhibition was nearing the end of its 6 month stay, and we wanted to see it. Sadly, due to it being the Terracotta Warriors*3 it was excessively popular, even after so long. Apparently to have a chance of getting tickets - 500 that are issued on the day - you'd have to be there at 8 am, we got there at just after 9. There was a very big queue when we got inside, quite probably 300 people in front of us. We grew despondent when a representative broke the news to us that there was no chance we were getting tickets because people had been queueing since 5 am*2. So we left somewhat dejectedly.
From the museum we walked down to Covent Garden, past Forbidden Planet. London, it seems, doesn't open very early, as the stalls were still setting up at half nine and the shops weren't even open/ing. Much browsing led me to the only decent stall in the whole Market; the precious stones and fossils stall ^_^ So I spent the best part of an hour here*4, talking to the very hairy proprietor; talking at length about various stones but mainly about his large collection of fossils, trilobites, teeth, ammonites, fish prints, etc, etc. He somehow had a piece of Mars rock about 1mm2 and similar size moon rock - the Mars rock was priced at around $950 - and he had two T-rex teeth fetching £350 each.*5 I came away from there with a nice little rock with two trilobites - unnamed as yet other than their Latin names that are too long for casual conversation - costing me £15. Kirsty got an ammonite and a trilobite shedding and a shark tooth thrown in for free.
After a brief trek across the city - no cheating using the underground - through Chinatown, Leicester Square and up Regent Street we came upon Carnaby Street, which is apparently a very famous shopping street. So we were around here for about an hour, possibly more. I wasn't too excited as you can probably tell because I haven't written much. We went in some shops. Well, quite a few actually. Anyway...
...finding somewhere to eat was, in general, easy. It all depends how willing you are to pay a lot. We found a posh café whose name escapes me; I had a Strawberry Cheesecake which was pretty fine, Kirsty had a chocolate cake of some form, Mum had a something and Dad had a Croque Monsieur. This coupled with two coffees and two other drinks - could be cokes - came to approximately £38. This is a scary number. There were big Easter eggs in the window that you could quite easily get a small child in costing between 15 and 45 quid. Also a scary number.
I've just been told that we went to the café before Carnaby Street. Oh well. Let's persevere. Heading back down towards Trafalgar Square to the National Gallery we heard much noise. Turns out there was a big political rally against the various wars we're involved in. That was mildly entertaining for a while. When we got bored, and after having some munchies because we were hungry again, we all went off to the National Gallery. This sounds easier than it is as it is very, very big. Spanning about 7 or 8 centuries of art in somewhere in the region of 70 rooms you may start to get the picture. My parents dragged me to see some painting that they thought were interesting. They weren't. My mum was waiting for a friend to meet her, so we waited. Finally the friend arrived and we set off again. A short while later, me and Kirsty were bored so went off to see what we wanted to. I saw some Rembrandt, Monet, Renoir, Seurat - who I'm not too keen on - Velázquez, Turner, One-Ear and Cezanne. So rather a lot really. My favourite painting was by none of these; called, for short, "The Meagre Company".
Half an hour later we met up again and left, to the relief of many. Heading down Pall Mall we turned off onto Piccadilly and beheld the biggest Waterstones ever; 5 or 6 floors of non-stop books*6 Heading off once more, the five of us went into Fortnum and Mason - again a big name - where upon me and Kirsty immediately left and went back to a Japanese shop that sold everything I could possibly want, books, cookbooks, cooking things, small bits of food and numerous other things. I came away with a rice bowl - though technically it could be used for anything not just rice - and Kirsty got a children's guide to Japanese, and a couple of bowls. The two of us then met up with the older people in an average noodlebar, that was distinctly average.
After a distinctly average tub of noodles we went on to the Royal Academy to the "From Russia" exhibition. This featured such people as Monet and Matisse. Okay, so these aren't exactly Russian artists, but they painted things for Russian people, and it was apparently the first time that they had ever come out of the country. That was pretty cool.
By now it was about 7 pm and we were getting the train about half past. So we flagged a cab and prayed that he could get us to the station in rush hour London in fifteen minutes. He did, with time to spare, so Dad paid him generously and we made the train. This one was much better condition than the first one although we weren't sitting together as a group. I decided that sleeping was a good idea, so I did. Thus time passed quickly for me.
Upon getting back to Newark station, we got back in the car and drove back to my Aunt and Uncles'. Not bad for a day out.
Skipping some of the more mundane things we got back on the Sunday night ad drove Kirsty home.
Monday arrived and I got up late. After a swift breakfast and getting dressed I bussed it down to Manchester to pick up my things from uni. Since I had a little time, I met up with Simon for a short while. This short while turned out to be a bad idea, as I missed one of my buses home, oh well. I eventually made it home with some clothing, big folder of art stuffs and my usual backpack. The next day I spent doing uni work. The evening of both days me and the parents watched a film of two and played Boggle. As you do.
On the Wednesday morning I left home early and got on a bus to Accrington. From here I got a train to Lancaster, via Preston. That was virtually uneventful. Kirsty met me at the station and we wandered around town for a while. In the market I was mistaken for a girl - again - at a stall selling admittedly girly things such as tights and leg-warmers. I got some fluorescent green leg-warmers. Yay. We went back to the uni briefly and then got the bus back into town to the cinema. We saw '10,000 BC'. It was decidedly average; it was a nice film, but the makers had put 'cave-men' and woolly mammoths and sabre-toothed cats together with aboriginals that would be found in Africa and Egyptians with their pyramids. The journey in the film managed to go from snow-covered mountains through jungles and a desert in what would be about 2 days walking. Sounds ridiculous, I know.
So it finished and we got the bus back up to the uni for foods and then went up to Kirsty's friend's friends' flat to meet them before we all went out to the Carleton in Morecambe for an Easter night out*7. It wasn't too bad although I thought the music was a little bit toss. Still, everyone else had a good time.
Thursday came and we woke up - we had gone to bed on the morning of this day, but that's not important - Kirsty had to go to a lecture of some form. I did some work and then some Timesplitters and then some typically internet based things, such as Invaders 2002 and other Facebook stuff. Kirsty came back for a bit, then went out again. Then came back and we had dinner. The she went out again...you get the picture, and I did work and procrastination all day. Finally after much backwards and forwardsing, Kirsty stayed in and we had tea. Then later on we watched Firefly! Hurrah! And then slept.
On Friday we eventually woke - can't remember if there was a lecture involved or not. But anyway, we spent a lot of time tidying the room and getting things out that would be going home for a month. Some of the things baffled me but they had to be taken. Many things were thrown out and the food cupboard was tidied. Her dad arrived at 5, by which time we were nearly done. We were still nearly done at half past and finally left at 6. I was taken straight home and then enjoyed a probably decent night in.
With the coming of the weekend came the inevitable meeting people. On Saturday many of us met at the Old House, inc. - ah screw it I can't be bothered to list who this included - but there were many people from BRGS, and even many from Hassy as well that I didn't expect. In all it was a generally good night, what with pool played and music eventually played and Chinese eaten, can't complain.
On Sunday evening, the four of us went out to my grandparents in Tod for tea. It was pretty damn fine and Kirsty had more food than I could have thought possible. Therefore, it was good ^.^ We came home at half ten, leaving a surprisingly decent film behind - The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency - it was amusing.
Oh, that's a point; it was Easter weekend. A strange one at that seeing as we had snow - about 3 inches of the stuff. I also got 2 eggs and a 2 Thornton bunnies, and then a third, complementary egg off Kirsty because it was dark chocolate. The first egg of Kirsty was a Creme Egg one with a mug big enough to swim in, I got her the same because that's the one she wanted =]
The new week brought not a great deal. Monday was generally uneventful, but then on Tuesday, oh dear. This day Simon and Laura and then Kirsty arrived at my house, to sort out a trip to France. After a lot of faffing around, giving up, looking at maps, ringing people for contacts and lifts, giving up, watching tele and anime, we finally got it done. This only happened because my parents were in to help, but we finally got flights booked in my name. This means that I paid for the flights. I hate to say it, but at a cost of almost £420. Still, we felt accomplished.
The next day, I went into town to do something I have not done for a long time. I went to get my hair cut. And it must be said that for £7.30 I could have done better myself. Oh well, it was cut, I spent money. Result. In the middle, I spent more money by going to meet people in Rawtenstall, at Do-Dahs*8 for dinner. There was me, Kirsty, Jono, Shona, Sammy, Jess, Shirin and Jacki. I managed to spend £8.50 on not a lot, but me and Jono shared a meat platter and a cheese platter. There was some very strong Stilton on there. I got a lift home afterwards off the very kind Mr Gledhill, with Jono, Jess and Shona. In the evening, we went over to my Grandma's where my family from Canada would be coming for a month-ish. It wasn't as big a disaster as we all thought it would be, what with my younger cousin being 3 it could have been hell. So we did talking and eating and it was successful.
On Thursday I didn't go out to Do-Dah's with my friends - as previously thought - I did course work. So that is a whole lot more interesting than the original entry. I would rather have kept the inaccurate version to be honest.
On Friday, which was yesterday, Kirsty came over at 2 and we watched a bit of TV and procrastinated on the internet and she gave me, and I quote "a tacky present" and it was suitably tacky. She left at half 5 and on the way back home Dad picked me up on the main road. After tea we started to watch Gojoe, a Japanese film about something to do with a demon/spirit that kept killing people. We got through 42 minutes before giving into boredom, and so put the Mask on instead and it was still hilarious, so that made up for the crap film.
And finally today, my rellies came up at 12ish and we've been talking, watching children's TV, eating pizza for dinner - which was very nice - and have currently just finished playing Rummikub and tea is being made; mum is playing Battleships with Rachel - my elder cousin - and I'm still here, after five and a half hours on and off writing. I dearly hope you've enjoyed this monstrous recollection.
As I always say, I'll try to keep up to date and fairly regular with all upcoming entries.
This will probably not happen.
Love, Milord.
*1The epicentre of that earthquake.
*2This, if you're unused to such terminology, happens somewhere between getting in from a night out and waking up hastily to get to a lecture.
*3Not all of them of course.
*4I realise many will think I'm sad. I'm not saying they're wrong, but I had to spend an hour doing something.
*5He also told me the best places to find fossils and such. For ammonites the closest place is Whitby. He'd recently been to Mauritania where there is apparently a lot of dinosaur material. And for an illegal-to-sell-what-you-find place go to Lyme Regis, where it is impossible to not find something - or so he said.
*6By comparison the Manchester Deansgate store has only 3 or 4 floors, and that's big enough.
*7We were apparently supposed to go as bunny rabbits. We were going as fluorescent bunny rabbits. I just went as a fluorescent me.
*8A very un-student friendly place, what with the silly prices.

Marching On...
Here we find the month of the Mothering Sunday. Woot.
Saturday came, thus heralding Mother's Day on Sunday. So me and Kirsty went into town and spent money. I got my mum a mug that proclaimed "I'd rather be buying shoes." And I accidentally bought the Resident Evil Trilogy. Oops.
On the evening of Saturday, Simon asked if I wanted to go to ASDA - since the cleaner at his place had thrown away some of his pans, for presently unknown reasons - so I obliged him. In the later evening I waited for Natty and Becky to arrive, as they were coming down to Jilly's that night. Little did I know that they were the only people to be coming. They spent a bit of time at mine before we went and Becky divulged that she would do a certain thing to Milla Jovovich, which was pretty amusing. She later said that she'd do the same thing to Kate Beckinsale. It was pretty good, although the ratio of good music to bad was a little one-sided. Still, it was helpful that Becky had some age-old tickets that got us in for free. Afterwards they stopped over at mine since they wouldn't be able to get back home at half two itm.
So then on Sunday I went home around dinner time (lunch) after Becky and Natty went home. I had a shower. Oh my god! The shower at home is PFA! Actual water and just nice ^.^ Then for tea the distinguished folk arrived. It was good to see them once again. And tea was good, proper pork and roasties along with some other munchables. That was damn fine also. I slept in my own bed! I want it at uni.
But anyway, on Monday I got the bus back into town at 8:00, got back to mine and got straight to work on my essays. These I really didn't like but got them done nonetheless, handed them in, then later allowed myself the satisfaction of watching Residental Evil: Extinction. The last and largest essay was an absolute arse-pain and very difficult - just like my course tutor had stated last week - but I did my best. I did that today.
When I got in I rewarded myself with a bit of internet browsing, then settled down again and did some project work. I then ate my tea - cow, pig and cous cous - which wasn't too bad. I added a little bit of lemon juice to the whole thing which didn't do any harm. After that, I indulged in some TF2* with Iain, but for some reason it kept lagging, so sadly to say, it sucked a bit really. And then Kirsty rang me, and that is where I currently am.
Goodnight all.
Love Milord.

Leaping Forward
It is a leap year!
Ok, so it's more than that. I wrote that so that I could tax the day. So I have the last post of February and a Leap Year Day rolled into one!
Starting off again from where I left off, on the Friday I went to the cinema to see Rambo; it was me, Iain, Scott, Simon, Hilmy and Mark. True to form and expectations it was amusing. Completely unrealistic, what with people getting cut in half by bullets and such-like.
Oh and in the morning I had a driving lesson, but that was uninteresting.
The weekend cometh! On Saturday, me and Vicki went to a sci-fi convention that in all truth sucked monkeys, although I did hug Darth Vader. Then afterwards I met up with the parents for dinner - we went to the Earth Café, a veggie place - this was ok, but I noticed that there was a distinct lack of cow. I was disappointed. We then parted for what reason I have no idea. Probably to do work.
Then the only interesting thing on Sunday was the quiz.
Moving swiftly onwards to Wednesday and I had a surprise lecture that was actually pretty interesting. And I went to Greggs and bought the usual. It was good.
Oo, then on Thursday I met up with Vicki to go to the Chinese. There was actually a reason for going; Polly and Amy - two girls on Vicki's course - are moving back in with us next year, so we were going out to celebrate this. Only problem was, was that they didn't turn up because apparently they don't like our Chinese. I was most upset. So it was just the two of us.
I was supposed to have a driving lesson on Friday, but Tony's car managed to break down just as I got on the bus. So I didn't have a driving lesson. Kirsty came down later on. I did my washing.
Well, that's the last of Feb done and the last 29th of Feb for another four years.
Love Milord.

Sniggering in the corner...
The past week has been a bit weak really. Not much has really happened...
Oh wait, that's the one, Valentines Day. Oops.
Anyway, so on the Tuesday - make that Wednesday - me and Kirsty went into town looking for potential things to buy each other. (She'd been down on Sunday and we'd looked in various places then - namely music shops) So we looked in these places again, but with more of an idea of what we were getting. We also went to a place similar to Paperchase, but dissimilar in the fact that it's called Parchment, where cards were bought - these turned out to be almost the same, but not. Kirsty said she picked it because I don't like soppy, fancy, flowery, gooey, typically romantic cards, which is true. And I got one that I thought she'd appreciate and that I'd like also. Sorted.
She bought me Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and I've watched it already...I bought her an Edward Monkton book, and then bought a silver heart-shaped locket, with 3 year insurance. She likes it though ^.^
Kirsty went home that evening.
The following afternoon/evening after I'd been in uni for what I don't recall, I went up to Lancaster. Madness you may think but with reason enough. There was a Sophie Lancaster Tribute, "Black Valentine", in town. Such bands that played were: Exploits of the Dead, Screams of Cold Winter, Cybercide and Deviant UK. Rating: 5, 7, 4, 8 - out of 10. In that order.
I watched Pirates 3 here, until 4am. Kirsty didn't. She slept.
On Friday I stayed for a long time - mainly playing on Timesplitters while Kirsty was in lectures - actually, there's no mainly about it. I then later left, obviously. I got back at a time - possibly around 8 or 9.
Nothing thrilling happened through that evening or through Saturday - unless you really want to call work thrilling ¬_¬ I thought not.
On Sunday, I did more of the above* and then in the evening went out to the Academy Unsigned where JOON undoubtedly stole the show. The first band was ok, the second band was shite, and insulted Manchester, and then JOON played for 45 minutes. After that the collection of people I called friends all went their respective ways and left. We didn't bother stopping for the last 1 or 2 bands remaining.
On Monday I had a driving lesson, after having a project launch of an extremely large project, and it wasn't too bad.
On Tuesday Kirsty came down and we, including Vicki, went to Satan's, where I managed to do something to my head that caused something to bleed during a slipknot pit, and the music was generally rubbish**.
On Wednesday we went climbing, along with Dani, Ric, Fletch and Sarah, although we didn't mix too much. Here we found Iain and Mark, whom I assured could not climb a 6anything, they couldn't. Mark left early, so it was just the three of us. It was pretty good ^_^
Today was generally crap. It's been uni, uni, uni. 9:30 start for a lecture thingy on concept which I think will help - it has a chance - then a video lecture after dinner at 1 - I fell asleep, but I know it was about Roberto Burle Marx - and then there was another lecture thingy about fences and walls. Woot ¬_¬
And that's it.
Love Milord.
*I'm not a sadist, I did have breaks in which I watched either Red vs Blue, or Black Lagoon, or played a bit of Half Life ^.^
**This didn't stop the idiots from starting pits though. To such things as drum'n'bass, soft rock and emo. I got verypissed off annoyed with them.
NB: if you wondered, the title is part of a line that I heard from the end of an episode (34) of Red vs Blue that I found highly amusing.

Diligence Pt. II
Seems to make more sense doing it this way - makes it seem like I've done more posts than I actually have. Anyway, let's get going.
Ok, so I've got on my train up to Lancaster on...the 1st February. It was in all a very short train journey - or it seemed so - but I spent most of the time over-hearing two girls talking - something to do I suppose. They were talking about 2 couples that they knew, I forget the details, but it was really quite interesting, and they mentioned one of their gay friends who is apparently more feminine than they were. I quote here, that the girls were planning/or had thought of planning "a girly night in watching 300" just so that he wouldn't turn up. So that was amusing too.
Also, when the munchies trolley came round I decided that I'd get a hot chocolate, and I rarely buy anything from the munchies trolley, but when I said what I wanted, the lady said that she'd just sold the last two - no prizes for guessing who to. So I said something to them along the lines of 'grr, that's your fault'.
Anyway, enough of the journey. Kirsty met me in the station and we got the bus back up to the uni. No we didn't, we stayed in town for a short time and went to some shops - this included a treacherous venture into GAME, which I admit left me almost 12 pound lighter. I bought Timesplitters: Future Perfect. I likes it far too much methinks. Then finally we got the bus back up to the uni.
Had foods. Then met up with people from Sammy's flat, including: Sammy and Matthew History, Matthew Corridor, Jenny, Nicki and another guy whose name I have temporarily forgotten. The number of us then got the bus, after standing for a short time in bloody windy outsideness, into Morecambe - which I would like to add is not one of the more interesting bus journeys I've ever been on - especially in the dark. In Morecambe we hastened into the warmth of Mega Zone, where they keep a version of laser quest*.
We had 4 games as a team against 2 other teams - alternating between red, green and yellow - and then a fifth as every-man-for-him/herself. Sadly to say I didn't do fantastically well.
Afterwards we hung around the bus stop on a road that "goes that way" according to Kirsty, once again in the windy coastal region conditions whilst stargazing and being as silly as thermally possible. We then got the bus - two buses in fact - back up to the uni. I may have played on Timesplitters for a time but then it was bed.
The day after can be skipped until...*thinks*...8pm maybe? It was around then. This is when me and Kirsty went to the LU Cinema Cult Comedy All-Nighter. Ok, so the line-up went like this: Wayne's World, South Park The Movie: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Airplane, Withnail and I, and Little Miss Sunshine. The first 4 are awesome, Withnail and I was dull so I slept as did Kirsty, and we left after that, sos never saw the last one. Between South Park and RHPS was a quiz, which we sucked at. We also couldn't be bothered to stay up till what would have turned out to be 9am. We did the sensible thing and went back to her room to sleep.
Which we did, until 3pm, or thereabouts. In the evening of the same day was the Cartmel College quiz. There were 2 Sams, 2 Matthews and 1 Kirsty. It was decent enough although the sound system was a bit shit really. We did manage to come 5 points from top though. The quiz was shortly followed by bed...I've just remembered that at some point this weekend I had a shower, though I don't know what day...at around 3am.
This resulted in me staying in bed 'till 4pm and Kirsty going to university. Hehe. So by elimination I didn't go back on Monday morning. I'm quite glad really, since otherwise I would have missed a rare event: there was a power cut, as in, all the power went off at once, in the whole flat; in the whole building; in the adjacent buildings; all the way up the lane and the rest of Cartmel College; up into Central; the whole university; and apparently the whole of Lancaster. It was really weird, to say the least.
After that, which lasted a measly half hour, we headed off into town to the Weatherspoons quiz. During the course of this we had some fierce competition from a group of "grannies" as Matthew described them.
I didn't get to stay for the whole quiz because I got the train back at 11ish and thus got back to Piccadilly at midnight. On the way back to my halls I went to Spar and got some loo roll and milk. After sleep I woke and went into uni at 2pm for what turned out to be a pretty much pointless seminar of 20 minutes. That was Tuesday.
On Wednesday I managed to go climbing, spending only £4 since I had made my dinner Tuesday night. I recall it being good, doing silly buggers again I think. It was mainly me and Ric, joined by Camilla and Maria/Marie - however you wish to spell it - seeing as Sarah, Fletch and Dani went to look at houses. One of them had slugs in it, so that was a no-no. And then I destroyed all work-out and went to the Chinese with Simon.
I went into uni again on Thursday and got a project, which after some explanation today makes much more sense and seems easier.
Friday I got the bus home after spending some time in the library. In the evening I went to the Royal in Waterfoot, with Kirsty and meeting many people I haven't seen in a long time. It was another band night but sadly Eustacia Vye weren't playing and I'm also afraid to add that Barry's band** wasn't quite up the the same standard. I slept in my own bed that night and it was immense.
The day after in trundled back down to Manchester with Kirsty and we shopped at Sainsbury's and bought chicken. Later we all*** went to Rock Kitchen. This turned out to be interesting, as me and Kirsty were waiting for the others, since we didn't actually know how to get in ¬_¬ but this was ok because we saw Kath, oddly. I thought, 'yay, we're saved', turns out she'd never been before either, although looking back I'm fairly sure that's a great big lie. When the others arrived we went back downstairs through the real way in - I got stamped on both hands, just like at the Royal ^.^
To be honest, it's not as good as Satan's but it was a pretty good night out ntl. Kirsty got lots of free drinks and saw Katrina, and Simon got very drunk and then thrown out and put on a bus simply because he showed someone what he'd had for dinner the day before.
On Sunday - the day of the Chinese Festivals, I managed to spend quite a bit. We went into Zavvi and I got a Sweeney Todd poster, and bought MSI tickets. The real reason for going there, and HMV, and Fopp, was to see if there were any potential things that Kirsty could get me for dreaded Valentine's Day. In Chinatown we stumbled across Dani, Ric, Fletch, Nic, Mr Becky and Christopher =] so I gave Chris a big hug.
We all parted shortly - then we did the shopping 'till closing time - then I took Kirsty - completely by surprise - to Wagamama. It was very nice but you get soo much. I paid ^.^
In the evening Kirsty was going to get the train back but they were all awry so she stayed and we all went to the MMUnion quiz. We didn't win but we did win a bag of jelly babies for the best drawing competition with Simon's lovely drawing of an Emosaurus under the team name of (drawn) Carrot.
Finally...yesterday, Monday, we got up early so Kirsty could get the train. I then went back the my room and did some work. Then at 3 I went into uni to see one of my tutors for a tutorial - the one I mentioned before that was really helpful - and then went to the SU and spent fifteen quid on tracing paper =[ and I then went back to my room to carry on work. At 6ish I met Simon, Scott and Iain and his brother at the Chinese. The former 3 and me then went to Scott's to watch an episode of Firefly ^_^ and then left once more. I managed a bit more work then gave up and watched Skins Series 2 Episode 1 on 4oD and it was awesome, all I can say is 'aww, Tony.' I then did this bloody essay.
I finish here and am going to go to bed for I am knackered...
Love, Milord.
*Plus points being that the guns are smaller and the packs are lighter. Also you get many more games for your money - I think 5 is a minimum for around £7.
Minus points being that you don't get score sheets and there are members who can play with the non-members, which sucks a bit.
**This includes Barry, Luke, Simon (Clare's boy) and Tom.
***Me, Kirsty, Simon, Scott, Iain, Mark, Hilmy, erm...another guy and his girlfriend Kirsty :S

Diligence Pt. I
Oh dear. Seems I haven't quite got the hang of this whole blogging thing yet :S
Seeing as I haven't blogged for what seems to be a month but in actual fact is only about 2 and a bit weeks - maybe 3 and a bit.
Ah, well. Here goes - again.
As far as I can work out I come back to you now, at the turn of the tide...sorry, I watched LOTRs last night...anyway, it was a Sunday night and we - being me, Simon, Iain, Scott, Mark and his friend - went to the quiz at MMUnion* and then went to get foods from the take-away. Me, Simon and Iain then went back to Iain's and played a bit of Oblivion - well, Simon did - and then watched I believe 2 episodes of Firefly! Still fantastic!
The Tuesday of the following week I purchased a train ticket and bundled myself off to Lancaster. This is obviously where Kirsty lives. Ine the evening time, me and Kirsty and Kirsty's friend Lindsey - who likes my beard - and possibly some other people went out into town. We went to Revolutions bar and Hustle. It was a good night, seeing me through quite an amount of pocket. Making it back with a drunken Lindsey at about 3ish, we slept.
The following day did exist and me and Kirsty bussed into town and bought not a lot, except for 30 mini-creme eggs for £1! Which I certainly didn't complain about.
I apologise if I gloss over any facts, but my memory at this distance is hazier than a Saharan mirage.
Carrying dilligently on, the next day - being Thursday - I got the return train at a silly time because I had to be back in uni by 9:30. I made it. I was in uni for a WHOLE DAY! if you can believe that, 3 hours of which were spent out in the horrible freezingly windy day measuring a mound in a park and some trees. That evening, I called on Vicki when she had finished in college and we trekked down to ASDA, in Hulme, near Moss Side. She spent about £14, I spent £22 - although I hold that this is enough to cover me for about 6 weeks - so that'll be about the time that I next blog ¬_¬
Anyway, enough of the delights of shopping. Judging from my monetary outflow chart - which is what I'm using to work out exactly what I've been doing all this time - it seems that I spent a lot of the time on busses the next day. So I have to assume that I had a driving lesson. Just realised that that evening me and Vicki went to see Sweeney Todd in all its magnificence! What a delightful film it was! Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall and Sasha Baron Cohen! Can't be beaten :D
The end of the week came and as pre-planned by I don't know how many weeks, I went to Do-Dahs. In this outing there was: Kirsty, Shirin (organiser), Anish, Morgan, Jacki, Nicola, Sophie, Heskey, Rach and Jess, and me ofc. We had a very good time, exchanging pleasantries and things to do with uni or similar. Then the unplanned occurred. It was decided that we go to the cinema - to see Sweeney Todd, yay! - so we did. But we also went to Tesco and WHSmith where I accidentally bought 'Thud!' and 'Jingo' by Mr Terry Pratchett.
The following day was PFA! I don't recall the daytime being all that special, but the eveningtime, well. This was Linkin Park night! My parents went along also. I had written down the whole set-list in order, but managed - like I knew would happen - to delete it, so I can now only guess. I know they opened with 'Wake' and 'Given Up' and did remember what they ended on - I now can't - and everything else was just a jumble. But what a gig! ...Ahem.
In that week I spent £120. Oops.
Apparently on the Monday I went to HMV and spent £12, but I fail to remember what I bought - If its supposed to be the new Arch Enemy album then it's a lie - I bought that a few weeks prior. Oh well, it's there.
The next day being Tuesday, we went to Satan's - we being me and Vicki - and it was a lot of fun despite it being only the two of us. I got 3 drinks at free bar and only bought one after - being sensible and all that. Vicki found a boy that she had seen the previous week and spent most of the night attached to him in some way, so I was left alone but I didn't really care. I had a fun time moshing and generally dancing in some way shap or form. Some girl was fascinated by my ridiculously bright luminescent Cyberdog top. But then, so was I.
Phew...busy, busy, busy.
The next day, I went climbing with Fletch and Ric - Dani was ill. Properly. Ric was introduced to what he now calls Silly-Buggers**.
My week-into-weekend really kicked off when I purchased another train ticket up to Lancaster.
*The result if you wanted to know, we came 4th out of a potential 20. Which isn't that bad.
**Basically you take it in turns to do a climb on a bouldering wall - or at least, start off with say, 2 hand-holds, then the first person up marks two more hand-holds in the sequence that have to be used. The next person up uses these 4 hand-holds - using the same placements as the person up before - and then adds 2 more to the sequence. I hope that's clear.

A grave blow to the head...
Here, in more detail than other entries, is my outline of the weekend. We start at Friday. Obviously to begin with we got up - we being me and Kirsty. To cut out all the obvious mundane stuff we set off north after rendezvousing with Vicki on the stairs. The journey was treacherous, having to dodge many unknown travellers and creatures stranded from the previous night, but eventually we made it to the mystical and wonderous place that is known as the Food Court.
Upon arrival we discovered that Simon was waiting for us - as planned. My companions may correct me, but to my knowledge we bought a small amount of food, devoured it and then set off once more. This time we headed west towards the transportation depot that would herald Kirsty's departure from the city. This would have occurred earlier and in the east, but the time of departure from the lodgings meant that we were too late to catch that particular...bus. Once at the depot we waited momentarily for the transport to arrive. Upon arrival, Kirsty boarded the transport and we bade her farewell.
The next part of the journey took me, Vicki and Simon uphill where we briefly parted; I to the building that deals with currency exchanges to give myself money using signed papers. I then left to meet the two others outside the lesser HMV. We then travelled up to the intriguing place known as, Forbidden Planet, wending our way through the perilous Market Street. Taking a short detour we found ourselves in a dangerous and tempting place whose name I do not recall, where our eyes feasted upon the delights of shining weaponry, mythical beasts and those which He himself surely wears. The legendary New Rocks.
Exerting huge effort we eventually manged to escape the building without severe casualties and hurried onwards to Forbidden Planet. It was at this stage in the excursion that the narrator took a grave blow to the head and so his speech capacity was damaged for some time. He then spent the rest of the time talking some strange local language where previous known words went straight out of the window. So, we got to Forbidden and ye gods we nearly wet ourselves with excitement. I spent the time looking through the posters whilst Vicki and Simon buggered off somewhere, Simon occassionally showing me an Anime dvd of some form. I eventually narrowed myfindings down to four posters - all Luis Royo - from a possible seven or so. I did only buy one, which is good.
We then left, having spent not a great deal and then accidentally got stuck in Cyberdog. Oh dear. Finally Vicki got two pairs of pants, for, twenty (20) pounds ladies and gentlemen! And I found a fantastic t-shirt which I had once seen in year 12 being worn by someone and I had thought, 'do want'* so I bought it. Going upstairs through the maze that is Afflecks we spent some time browsing, and looking at more posters. I found a perfect one for my mum though, which is good, seeing as it's her birthday very soon...anyway, it was - still is - a Simpson's one doing a take on an Edward Hopper painting**.
As our day progressed we ended up in the bigger HMV where a Catt pounced on us. We talked shortly and then she ran away. Me and Simon both bought some Anime; me - Ghost in the Shell boxed-set, Simon - She, the Ultimate Weapon. And then we dangerously went to Fopp, but I bought nothing. I don't think we went to Games Workshop, for once, but instead we left and went to mine for a short time, then Vicki went back downstairs and Simon went home. I then had the rest of the night to do some work.
The following day I awoke hardly refreshed at 9:30, giving me half an hour to d ogetting ready thins and get to work on time - which I pretty much managed, surprisingly. This was my last day and I was a bit miffed because 1. I would be leaving some nice people behind, and 2. I'd be leaving £200 a month behind. During my dinner break I got excited and went to Games Workshop and bought a basic marines set and some black spray. For dinner I went to Greggs***. Then at 6:30 I finished work, a whole half hour after I was supposed to do. During that extra half hour, I made the biggest balls-up on tannoy I believe has ever been achieved; I was trying to call a manager over to deal with something but managed to get several call-out phrases completely mixed up. This combined with the short amount of time you have on the thing and the fact that my brain had left itself in GW^, the ensuing phrase was something like this; "Can an assoc...memb...er, um, er staff, manage, erm, can a managerial, no er...er'umm, ohh'er, em, bleh'ma, man, agam, er, erm, e'b'm, um'em, bul'em'lm..." I was left extremely red in the face - or so it felt - and so crouched down behind the counter whilst my co-workers laughed at me and the person I was serving looked perplexed.
I then went home after raking in almost 5k, had some food of some sort and then managed to get a bit of work done whilst on msn to Kirsty and later on putting my new WH^^ together.
The sunday was mostly devoted to work, just as I'd told myself it would be, although I gave myself breaks ofc. At dinner time I met up with my good friend Kath for an hour. We wandered around a bit, went to Waterstones where I bought two new books - House of Chains by Steven Erikson and Scar Night by Alan Campbell - and then she went home, as did I. Then up until 7:30 I did more work and then went out for foods at Buffet Metro with Iain, Scott and Mark. Simon did not go because he was still in Edinburgh and had misjudged when he needed to get the train by. Silly boy. I got back in at 9:30 ish and spoke to Kirsty for a while on good ol' msn and then I had a nice relaxation.
That concludes my pretty damn busy weekend. And just for point's sake, my Crusader is pfa, as are my marines ^.^
Love, Milord.

Police
A short while ago me, Kirsty and Simon came back from the IMAX in Manchester after seeing I Am Legend.
Coming down the road I jumped over a building wall - that's the best way I can think of describing it - right next to an ambulance. Kirsty says, "Sam there's police in there." I reply, "It's an ambulance."
Silly girl.
That is all. Milord

Go to the loo, grab some food and a drink and sit comfortably...
Well, seeing as this is the first entry of the new year and also the first in about 3 weeks, so as you can imagine, it's going to be long. Hence the title...
Erm...let's see the 22nd, started with work 'till 6 - unless that was the day I did the extra hour - dunno. Oh, yes, it was. Anyway. Got home and the Ramshead's came down for tea - they live at the top of the garden and we've known them for many years. We ate and drank and got silly and told jokes - one involving a couple of cupboards*. Finally they left
on the morning of the 23rd. This day was kind of dull. I've deduced this because I can't remember what happened, so I'll say that I did course work.
Moving swiftly on to Christmas Eve - traditionally we see Martin and his family as it is his mother's birthday - this year was no exception. They didn't stay all that long, but nevermind. In the evening I had a Kirsty, a Simon, a Jonooo and a Laura over. We played Blockbuster, Who Wants to be a Millionnaire and Atmosfear - which was pretty terrible but amusing. Then we all **went to the Codds and ate more food than seems possible.
Oh, and then me and Kirsty exchanged Chrissy pressies. I got her a manga book of 500 different pictures which came with a cd, an Atlas - which she sorely needs - and a Russian Doll, which I know she really wanted. Kirsty got me: a book of chrismassy things with a likeness to lolcats, 'Ketchup on your Cornflakes'. Futurama Season 2, a 300 poster and a gothic girl poster, and a Luis Royo calendar! All awesome.
So, Christmas came! I opened some of my presents in the morning with my parents, and then the rest later on when the old people came round. I won't rattle off a long list of what I got, so I'll just put my main ones; climbing gear, a huge green lava lamp and a food box from parents :S The evening finished with the playing of games. Was fun.
Boxing day next? Yes. Grandma had stayed over and so the four of us went to Rawtenstall to get Kirsty and then drove down to Newark - or as Kirsty pronounced it, Ney-wark - to my Aunt and Uncle's place. Some more presents exchanged hands, my cousin was entertained and food was had. I demolished about 3 platefuls - properly full, not half-arsed attempts - and probably a plateful equivalent of peas =]
We then left the next day after watching Finding Nemo the day before and got home at about 2:30 - got to Kirsty's - on the day after the film. I'd been invited to go to Matthew History's birthday at Frankie and Benny's in Blackburn. Food wasn't great, but then I didn't expect 5-star shiz anyway.
The Friday I worked 5 - 9 - nothing exciting there then.
Saturday. Same but between 10 and 6.
Can't remember the 30th - obviously exciting day. Ok, so I've just gone and checked and I did actually do something - I went to the cinema with Martin. We do that a lot, but that isn't because we have nothing better to do. But anyway, we went to see I Am Legend in the Directors Auditorium and helped ourselves to couches. It was a good film with a 28 Days/Weeks Later-esque feel to it, though set in New York. I'd very much like to know how they managed to film the thing though, as the entirety of the city is devoid of people and jam-packed with lonely tail backs on the roads and generally in a back way - there are even lions and deer.
New Year's Eve consisted of me working yet again and Becky's NYEP. Originally I said I'd work 10 - 6, although more originally I was supposed to be working Boxing Day 10 - 4, but as you've just read, I was busy so had to change - to the displeasure of my bosses - so eventually negotiated NYE 10 - 6. The day came along but I found that I was actually doing 12 - 4 - I found this out on the Saturday or Friday, not on NYE, so it's not like I turned up two hours early. I got paid on Monday too - a whole £200 or so - and I treated myself to a Land Raider Crusader (which, for the heathens, is a Warhammer 40K tank)
Becky's made up for work by being awesome =D again. We drank, we ate, we got naked - well, at least partially - people's nipples were captured on camera - even some of the girls, but obviously the boys were not allowed to be present at those times. Tsk. So, after saying goodbye to several people and having looked after Lotta, beds were brought into being. I know at least Ben snored; true to form. I also got some more presents, well, off Chris anyway - an Official Games Workshop tape measure =]
Here's the first mention of the new year: we woke - don't look so shocked - and me and Kirsty packed up and left, taking Vicki and Simon with us - they went to their respective homes of course. I spent NYD at Kirsty's, as I did last year. We played HPSI again I think. Also, more food was had.
Wednesday yielded very little - probably consisting of doing work and then in the evening had good ol' quality family time.
We all went ice skating on Thursday, i.e. Me, Kirsty, Simon, Sammy, Matthew, Jess, Ben and Ellen. Much of the time was taken over to getting Ellen up and around, although I did glide off a few times to have a few untainted laps. Afterwards we went to ASDA as seems to be customary , and I got rice and beans - again. Twice. The same happened in the evening as happened the previous night.
On Friday me and mother took a short walk up Tod Old Road and back down the main road in the half-arsed snow, which was nice. Then spent the rest of the day doing very little - so basically the same as the before the previous day. Oh, no. Wait. I had work again.
And on Saturday. Although this time I found out whether I'd be staying on as a permanent employee or not. And I'm not. So I've got next Saturday and then that's it for the income.
Went home that night and then
I did very little Sunday, other than pack my uni things together really. All four of us - this includes Kirsty - drove into town and had an Indian at the Pink Garlic, t'was very good. So they left me where I am currently. I had the 'leftovers' for my tea
on Monday. On this day I had a project launch but that doesn't seem too diffcult really - it's not being started yet though as my portfolia hand-in is next Wednesday. Bugger.
Yesterday I had a seminar and that's it. Hehe. God I'm in uni a lot. Pfft. So I did more folio work, played on Portal, WENT TO GAMES WORKSHOP, obviously, to put together my Crusader. Kirsty went with also.
And finally, with a deep breath, today, which has been almost exactly like yesterday, except I didn't have to go into uni today. I still did becausee I needed to pick up my sketchbook from the Munich trip. More working, mor Portal, more modelling***. I got so thoroughly bored and/or annoyed with all of these things at one point that I went into the living room area thing to wait for the lottery results - of which I got no numbers. Rachel came in (she lives in my flat, obv. and is not the same Rachel as the Rachel in the entry from the 21st) and we chatted for ~30 minutes.
So that's it. Almost 3 weeks summed up in mind-rendingly uninteresting detail.
Love, Milord.
*If you want to hear about this then the best people to see are me or my dad.
**We being me and Kirsty, my mum and dad and the Ramsheads.
***Something interesting, although not in the least bit amusing, was that during the modelling, i managed to tip quite a lot of super glue onto my pants. I only noticed because my leg started to get hot and smoke. I thought I was on fire. My pants had glued to my leg. I spent the next hour getting the glue off me with a craft knife. Not fun. The glue set on the pants and that part has gone solid, so now my pants can actually physically break. Great.
