Go to the loo, grab some food and a drink and sit comfortably...

Well, seeing as this is the first entry of the new year and also the first in about 3 weeks, so as you can imagine, it's going to be long. Hence the title...

Erm...let's see the 22nd, started with work 'till 6 - unless that was the day I did the extra hour - dunno. Oh, yes, it was. Anyway. Got home and the Ramshead's came down for tea - they live at the top of the garden and we've known them for many years. We ate and drank and got silly and told jokes - one involving a couple of cupboards*. Finally they left

on the morning of the 23rd. This day was kind of dull. I've deduced this because I can't remember what happened, so I'll say that I did course work.

Moving swiftly on to Christmas Eve - traditionally we see Martin and his family as it is his mother's birthday - this year was no exception. They didn't stay all that long, but nevermind. In the evening I had a Kirsty, a Simon, a Jonooo and a Laura over. We played Blockbuster, Who Wants to be a Millionnaire and Atmosfear - which was pretty terrible but amusing. Then we all **went to the Codds and ate more food than seems possible.
Oh, and then me and Kirsty exchanged Chrissy pressies. I got her a manga book of 500 different pictures which came with a cd, an Atlas - which she sorely needs - and a Russian Doll, which I know she really wanted. Kirsty got me: a book of chrismassy things with a likeness to lolcats, 'Ketchup on your Cornflakes'. Futurama Season 2, a 300 poster and a gothic girl poster, and a Luis Royo calendar! All awesome.

So, Christmas came! I opened some of my presents in the morning with my parents, and then the rest later on when the old people came round. I won't rattle off a long list of what I got, so I'll just put my main ones; climbing gear, a huge green lava lamp and a food box from parents :S The evening finished with the playing of games. Was fun.

Boxing day next? Yes. Grandma had stayed over and so the four of us went to Rawtenstall to get Kirsty and then drove down to Newark - or as Kirsty pronounced it, Ney-wark - to my Aunt and Uncle's place. Some more presents exchanged hands, my cousin was entertained and food was had. I demolished about 3 platefuls - properly full, not half-arsed attempts - and probably a plateful equivalent of peas =]

We then left the next day after watching Finding Nemo the day before and got home at about 2:30 - got to Kirsty's - on the day after the film. I'd been invited to go to Matthew History's birthday at Frankie and Benny's in Blackburn. Food wasn't great, but then I didn't expect 5-star shiz anyway.

The Friday I worked 5 - 9 - nothing exciting there then.

Saturday. Same but between 10 and 6.

Can't remember the 30th - obviously exciting day. Ok, so I've just gone and checked and I did actually do something - I went to the cinema with Martin. We do that a lot, but that isn't because we have nothing better to do. But anyway, we went to see I Am Legend in the Directors Auditorium and helped ourselves to couches. It was a good film with a 28 Days/Weeks Later-esque feel to it, though set in New York. I'd very much like to know how they managed to film the thing though, as the entirety of the city is devoid of people and jam-packed with lonely tail backs on the roads and generally in a back way - there are even lions and deer.

New Year's Eve consisted of me working yet again and Becky's NYEP. Originally I said I'd work 10 - 6, although more originally I was supposed to be working Boxing Day 10 - 4, but as you've just read, I was busy so had to change - to the displeasure of my bosses - so eventually negotiated NYE 10 - 6. The day came along but I found that I was actually doing 12 - 4 - I found this out on the Saturday or Friday, not on NYE, so it's not like I turned up two hours early. I got paid on Monday too - a whole £200 or so - and I treated myself to a Land Raider Crusader (which, for the heathens, is a Warhammer 40K tank)
Becky's made up for work by being awesome =D again. We drank, we ate, we got naked - well, at least partially - people's nipples were captured on camera - even some of the girls, but obviously the boys were not allowed to be present at those times. Tsk. So, after saying goodbye to several people and having looked after Lotta, beds were brought into being. I know at least Ben snored; true to form. I also got some more presents, well, off Chris anyway - an Official Games Workshop tape measure =]

Here's the first mention of the new year: we woke - don't look so shocked - and me and Kirsty packed up and left, taking Vicki and Simon with us - they went to their respective homes of course. I spent NYD at Kirsty's, as I did last year. We played HPSI again I think. Also, more food was had.

Wednesday yielded very little - probably consisting of doing work and then in the evening had good ol' quality family time.

We all went ice skating on Thursday, i.e. Me, Kirsty, Simon, Sammy, Matthew, Jess, Ben and Ellen. Much of the time was taken over to getting Ellen up and around, although I did glide off a few times to have a few untainted laps. Afterwards we went to ASDA as seems to be customary , and I got rice and beans - again. Twice. The same happened in the evening as happened the previous night.

On Friday me and mother took a short walk up Tod Old Road and back down the main road in the half-arsed snow, which was nice. Then spent the rest of the day doing very little - so basically the same as the before the previous day. Oh, no. Wait. I had work again.

And on Saturday. Although this time I found out whether I'd be staying on as a permanent employee or not. And I'm not. So I've got next Saturday and then that's it for the income.
Went home that night and then

I did very little Sunday, other than pack my uni things together really. All four of us - this includes Kirsty - drove into town and had an Indian at the Pink Garlic, t'was very good. So they left me where I am currently. I had the 'leftovers' for my tea

on Monday. On this day I had a project launch but that doesn't seem too diffcult really - it's not being started yet though as my portfolia hand-in is next Wednesday. Bugger.

Yesterday I had a seminar and that's it. Hehe. God I'm in uni a lot. Pfft. So I did more folio work, played on Portal, WENT TO GAMES WORKSHOP, obviously, to put together my Crusader. Kirsty went with also.

And finally, with a deep breath, today, which has been almost exactly like yesterday, except I didn't have to go into uni today. I still did becausee I needed to pick up my sketchbook from the Munich trip. More working, mor Portal, more modelling***. I got so thoroughly bored and/or annoyed with all of these things at one point that I went into the living room area thing to wait for the lottery results - of which I got no numbers. Rachel came in (she lives in my flat, obv. and is not the same Rachel as the Rachel in the entry from the 21st) and we chatted for ~30 minutes.

So that's it. Almost 3 weeks summed up in mind-rendingly uninteresting detail.

Love, Milord.

*If you want to hear about this then the best people to see are me or my dad.

**We being me and Kirsty, my mum and dad and the Ramsheads.

***Something interesting, although not in the least bit amusing, was that during the modelling, i managed to tip quite a lot of super glue onto my pants. I only noticed because my leg started to get hot and smoke. I thought I was on fire. My pants had glued to my leg. I spent the next hour getting the glue off me with a craft knife. Not fun. The glue set on the pants and that part has gone solid, so now my pants can actually physically break. Great.
